Escondido Lady Cougar varsity field hockey team lost a thriller Friday night at Wilson stadium to Mission Vista 0-1. After two halves of Cougar domination during regulation time, Mission Hills was able to successfully hold the Cougars scoreless even due to numerous attempts by Lady Cougars. A definite star studded night by both goalies, the extra period would not roll the Lady Cougars way. Continued dominance during the extra period by the Lady Cougars would come to an end during the final 10 seconds when a shot by one the Mission Hills players would squeeze a goal past the Lady Cougars goalie who had been dominate all night. Goalies from both schools were the key elements during a thriller in Escondido. The Lady Cougars win streak comes to a halt a 3 and will be in action again tuesday night in Vista hopeful to begin another win streak prior to regular season play.
